Police Respond to Late-Night Domestic Dispute
CHICAGO – A woman has passed away following a domestic incident that occurred late Saturday night in the Budlong Woods neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Emergency Services Called to Balmoral Avenue
Authorities said the incident took place around 11:24 p.m. in the 2700-block of West Balmoral Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance involving two individuals.
Victim Transported to Hospital
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 29-year-old woman with a serious injury inside a residence. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Suspect Taken Into Custody
Preliminary information suggests that an argument between the woman and a 35-year-old man escalated, resulting in the woman sustaining a fatal wound. The man initially fled the scene, but police confirmed he was later located and taken into custody. Charges are currently pending.
Investigation Ongoing
Chicago police said Area Three detectives are continuing their investigation. No additional information has been released at this time.
