Investigation Underway Following Deadly Accident
Authorities are investigating a tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday morning, resulting in one fatality.
Road Closures Following the Crash
Just before 8 a.m., the Canton Police Department temporarily shut down Riverstone Parkway and the Interstate 575 southbound on-ramp due to the collision. Officials confirmed that the crash involved a tractor-trailer and an SUV.
Victim’s Identity Not Yet Released
One person lost their life in the accident. However, authorities have not disclosed the victim’s identity or age at this time.
Authorities Continue Their Investigation
Canton Police Chief Ferrell stated that the road has since reopened, but the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family, and we appreciate the public’s patience as we work to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event,” said Chief Ferrell.
